Ray & Marie Chabot Save Rider!
Last
Friday night Al Morancy, his wife (Linda) and daughter (Haley) were on their sleds crossing lake Umbagog on
the way to the Bull Moose for Al's birthday when they got disoriented in a whiteout. Heading the wrong way Al and
his sled plunged into the Rapid River. Haley managed to jump her sled before it went into the river as well. After
about twenty minutes Linda was finally able to get Al out of the freezing water with her jacket. All three got on one
sled and somehow managed to find their way to the Carry Road and to Ray and Marie's Sugar Shack. Al was badly hypothermic,
but with the quick action and experience of Ray and Marie Al pulled through. The
moral of the story is to stay off the lake at night!
